Monadnock Humane Society is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our shelter medical team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and act as the lead tech in surgery for shelter and community animals
- Monitor animals before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and microchips
- Perform diagnostic tests (SNAP testing, blood chemistries, x-rays, etc.)
- Maintain accurate medical records in shelter database
- Support the care and welfare of animals in the shelter
- Maintain a clean and safe veterinary work environment
- Communicate clearly with adopters, staff, and volunteers regarding animal health
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred or equivalent experience
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities based on animal needs
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Compassion for animals and people with a commitment to humane care
- Experience in a high-volume or shelter environment a plus
